This movie was on TV recently and I watched it not
knowing what to expect. The entry in the schedule said it was a science fiction
story, and although it was the science played a very minimal part to the story
which was a rather trite love story. Nevertheless the concept of a world where
people across the globe begin to lose their sense of smell inexplicably and all
at once after a brief emotional episode was quite an interesting idea. And when
the population lose their sense of taste, then hearing and eventually sight as
well… …this was quite a scary thought, and I must admit it gave me some
sleepless moments where I replayed it over in my mind. What a horrific idea to
be robbed of your senses in such a way and what panic it would cause.
