At the local folk club we saw the accomplished and
entertaining Brian Peters whose songs and tunes featured the English tradition
heavily with a few colonial influences. He played concertina, melodeon, and
guitar and sang for a couple of hours and added amusing anecdotes and explained
some of the references and origins of what he was performing.
A couple of weeks later we saw the energetic and
wonderful Pilgrims’ Way, a supremely talented trio of young performers, Tom,
Edwin and Lucy. They played some foot stomping tunes, lovely songs and had an
infectious enthusiasm that made the time just fly by.
