More of wot I have heard...

Our local folk club put on a special double bill night with two new bands on show.

The first was Choro Bandido who despite the name are a local group who specialise in the Brazilian style of folk called choro. They we excellent and very talented, the music was good and had a great foot-tapping rhythm to it.

The next band was three young guys calling themselves The Reverenzas and they were absolutely brilliant. They are from Oxford and are relatively new to the scene, but already they have started to gain attention by wining new comer competitions at festivals. They are a lively band that pound their feet on the ground in a hypnotic rhythm. There were elements of Bellowhead in their performance, but I think the lead singer was even better than Jon Boden with his range and passion really lifting the interestingly arranged songs. What out for them, I bet they will be big soon.
