Whilst we were away in NZ, the UK went through a heatwave, and we noticed as we arrived much of the landscape was a dry looking brown. We had to adopt the Spanish ways of closing windows and curtains during the day to keep the heat out, and to ensure we avoided the midday heat. We went for early walk under the shade of trees and ate out in the garden as the sun went down.
